  1. Revelation 4 World English Bible (WEB)
    4 After these things I looked and saw a door opened in heaven, and the first voice that I heard, like a trumpet speaking with me, was one saying, “Come up here, and I will show you the things which must happen after this.”

    2 Immediately I was in the Spirit. Behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting on the throne 3 that looked like a jasper stone and a sardius. There was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald to look at. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones. On the thrones were twenty-four elders sitting, dressed in white garments, with crowns of gold on their heads. 5 Out of the throne proceed lightnings, sounds, and thunders. There were seven lamps of fire burning before his throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 Before the throne was something like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. In the middle of the throne, and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind. 7 The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like a man, and the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!”

    9 When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives forever and ever, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory, the honor, and the power, for you created all things, and because of your desire they existed, and were created!”

      • Amen! So many things bursting into green. They were full of life all winter too… but seeing all the green really ministers to my senses. That is actually a powerful thought. There are times of seeming dormancy in the world where God’s hand and expression seem to have disappeared.. and yet the spring always comes and life bursts out of seeming desolation.

    • Good morning! Vs 4 reminds me that we have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. A dear friend asked, how can you understand scripture if someone doesn’t help you? The answer is, I can’t. The Holy Spirit is the best teacher and has promised to lead me into all truth. The more I walk with God, the more I get glimpses of the future too. I am not a fortune teller and can certainly not tell you anything on demand. But I do catch glimpses now and again as He wills me to know. Very often when I need help holding the line that He sets me on.

      John 16:13 World English Bible (WEB)
      “13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.”

    • Good Morning!

      Amplified.5 From the throne came flashes of lightning and [rumbling] sounds and peals of thunder. Seven lamps of fire were burning in front of the throne, which are [d]the seven Spirits of God;

      Never noticed before, “the seven spirits of God”

      Have to look into that.

    • I love the descriptions of what everything looked like, the precious stones, rainbow etc. At first in the version I thought the the stones in verse three were describing the throne, but looking in the amplified it is actually describing the one who sat there. Vs3”And He who sat there appeared like (the crystalline sparkle of) a jasper so the and (the fiery redness of) a sardius stone, and encircling the throne there was a rainbow that looked like (the colour of an) emerald. I’ve heard people who have been to heaven trying to describe the intensity of the colours and everything there and saying that words were not able to express what they saw and felt.

      • I find it fascinating that God just spends so much time in describing certain things like this. I love to pause and try to allow Him to paint a picture in my heart. I know that it will fall short, but these images are ones of great beauty and a source of comfort as we look to the future glory and our future homes.

    • I love vs8. That they take no rest but are continually worshipping. I have experienced times of intense corporate worship for a couple of hours at a time, but how amazing that they are continually worshipping without any rest. It would seem that they derive all that they need from worshipping. How amazing would that be. One of my favourite worship songs, Revelation Song must have been taken from this verse. “ Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.”

  2. In looking a bit into that the seven spirits of God are the spirit of the Lord,and the spirits of wisdom ,understanding,of counsel,of might ,of knowledge and of fear of the Lord.KC

    • That’s a good thought and possibility as whatever John was describing he didn’t make it really clear. I’ve experienced how restful and awesome a lake can be when it could be described as still as ‘glass’. A picture of rest …yet a sea is not something I would describe as ‘restful’ KC

    • Hello! Howard Katz had a teaching on this.. Revelation 15 also refers to this. Apparently it is a good thing.

      Revelation 15:1-6 World English Bible (WEB)
      15 I saw another great and marvelous sign in the sky: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them God’s wrath is finished. 2 I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who overcame the beast, his image, and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. 3 They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

      “Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty!
      Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations.
      4 Who wouldn’t fear you, Lord,
      and glorify your name?
      For you only are holy.
      For all the nations will come and worship before you.
      For your righteous acts have been revealed.”

      • It was as an excellent teaching. I believe that there are those who are in the inner circle and in tight fellowship with God in heaven and those (perhaps what is represented by the Sea of Glass).. and those who are saved. I do remember a verse about some will need to be led and fed for all of eternity.. I think this has to do something to do with the different rewards, and responsibilities we will be given based on the treasures and faithfulness with which we live during our time in the flesh.

        1 Corinthians 3:15 King James Version (KJV)
        15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

      • Another song that we sang that was written by someone in our fellowship. Great and Marvelous are world, Lord God, the Almighty, It was very powerful.

  3. Revelation 5 World English Bible (WEB)
    5 I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals. 2 I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?” 3 No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book or to look in it. 4 Then I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look in it. 5 One of the elders said to me, “Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome: he who opens the book and its seven seals.” 6 I saw in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. 7 Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 They sang a new song, saying,

    “You are worthy to take the book
    and to open its seals:
    for you were killed,
    and bought us for God with your blood
    out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,
    10 and made us kings and priests to our God,
    and we will reign on the earth.”

    11 I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. The number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands; 12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”

    13 I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!”

    14 The four living creatures said, “Amen!” Then the elders fell down and worshiped.

    • Amplified V9 “Worthy and deserving are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slain (sacrificed), and with Your blood You purchased people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
      10
      “You have made them to be a kingdom [of royal subjects] and priests to our God; and they will reign on the earth.”

      I love that. He “bought” or “purchased” people with His blood and we are made royal subjects and priests reigning on the earth.

    • The question that came to mind here was ‘What are the seven seals’? If the book is Gods word , are the seals all the things that keep people and hinder people from getting into it and benefitting from it? The 4th seal apparently is the pale horse whose name was DEATH,so that is what makes me question what exactly is wrapped around that book that needs to be broken?KC

      • Psalm 141:1-3 English Standard Version (ESV)
        A Psalm of David.
        141 O Lord, I call upon you; hasten to me!
        Give ear to my voice when I call to you!
        2 Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,
        and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!

        3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
        keep watch over the door of my lips!

      • Yes I think prayers that are in line with the scriptures are such key,to releasing things in the spirit realm to manifest on earth.I am sure in my lifetime I have prayed many prayers out of my own selfish human desires that were not in line with scripture. there is a country song that talks about being grateful for ‘unanswered ‘ prayer. And I am grateful for His grace that totally ignores me at times.KC

    • Amplified V6 And there [b]between the throne (with the four living creatures) and among the elders I saw a Lamb (Christ) standing, [bearing scars and wounds] as though it had been slain, with seven horns (complete power) and with seven eyes (complete knowledge), which are [c]the seven Spirits of God who have been sent [on duty] into all the earth.

      A little more description of the seven Spirits of God. Power and Knowledge being two.

    • vs 13….. WOW!!!! This is so so humbling. Our Lord is worthy of such magnification, such praise, such honour and such reverence. It strikes me how casually and readily we complain to Him, or worse about Him. Fear of the Lord… Is an essential key to the Kingdom. We have lost sight of reverencing God. Without it, we cannot gain true knowledge or wisdom. We need to get our cart and horse in the right order.

      Proverbs 1:7 [Full Chapter]
      The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

      Psalm 111:10 English Standard Version (ESV)
      10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
      all those who practice it have a good understanding.
      His praise endures forever!

    • This again makes me so thankful for God’s plan of having Jesus Christ be the lamb who was slain for the whole earth. It is really quite overwhelming to think about. I can see why all the thousands worshipped and why the elders fell down and worshipped.

  4. Psalm 5:2-4 English Standard Version (ESV)
    2 Give attention to the sound of my cry,
    my King and my God,
    for to you do I pray.
    3 O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
    in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.

    ESV 3″O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice;
    in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.”

    4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
    evil may not dwell with you.

  5. 1 Corinthians 2:8-10 New Living Translation (NLT)
    8 But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord. 9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,

    “No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
    and no mind has imagined
    what God has prepared
    for those who love him.”

    10 But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.
