  1. James 5 WEB”13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. 14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, 15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it didn’t rain on the earth for three years and six months. 18 He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. 19 Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” A little detour that is really on my heart this morning.

    • Good morning! I love this detour and what stood out was “ the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective” I love how we are reminded here that the Elijah ..who moved in such powerful miracles ‘was a man with a nature like ours’ but his insistent and consistent prayer brought about such great responses from Lord that revealed His glory and power!

    • Elijah’s prayer radically impacted all of the surrounding nations. Our praise is essential in this season.

Psalm 149 AMPC ” 6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands,7 To wreak vengeance upon the nations and chastisement upon the peoples, 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron, 9 To execute upon them the judgment written. He [the Lord] is the honor of all His saints. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)”

  2. I have been thinking how mightily God used Elijah to impact the world. And yet, when intimidation and fear set in, this same man of faith fled in fear from Jezebel and Ahab. Who we perceive of as being greater in every moment radically changes our actions and mental frameworks. I was reminded that God has commanded us to magnify Him. Psalm 69:30 World English Bible (WEB) “30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.” Psalm 34 BSB “…2My soul boasts in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice. 3Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt His name together. 4I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.…”

  3. Exodus 1 KJV “7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. 8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. 9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: 10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land. 11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. 12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.
13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: 14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.”

  4. Vs 17 amp. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours(with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings),…… I love that because we often like to think that all those prophets etc. Were much better than us and did not have the same issues that we have, so we have an excuse to not move as they did. I will speak for myself at least.

  5. “ and the more they afflicted them the more they multiplied and grew”
As we face different the afflictions of today that we see directly opposing Gods will and people may this be true and manifested in growing multitudes of people He calls His own!

    • Oh my YES!!!! I feel like every time the enemy gains confidence, he overextends and ends up being exposed or being devastated in radical ways. God will not be mocked.

Galatians 6:6-8 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)”6 Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support]. 7 Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

    • I believe all these shakings will open many “doors of utterance”
Colossians 4:2-4 World English Bible (WEB) “2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving, 3 praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds, 4 that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.”

  6. Yes we are praying through this time of affliction that many will rise up to worship and cry out to the Lord our God. That people will turn from the God’s of Egypt and have the blinders taken off of their eyes to see the true God. I want my eyes opened all the more as well, to really “see” what is going on.

    • “The servant of the man of God got up early and went out, and behold, there was an army with horses and chariots encircling the city. Elisha’s servant said to him, “Oh no, my master! What are we to do?”

Then Elisha prayed and said, “LORD, please, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servants eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha. When the Arameans came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, “Please strike this people (nation) with blindness.” And God struck them with blindness, in accordance with Elisha’s request. Then Elisha said to the Arameans, “This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me and I will lead you to the man whom you are seeking.” And he led them to Samaria. When they had come into Samaria, Elisha said, “LORD, open the eyes of these men, so that they may see.” And the LORD opened their eyes and they saw. Behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

Elisha answered, “You shall not kill them. Would you kill those you have taken captive with your sword and bow? Serve them bread and water, so that they may eat and drink, and go back to their master [King Ben-hadad].” So the king prepared a great feast for them; and when they had eaten and drunk he sent them away, and they went to their master. And the marauding bands of Aram did not come into the land of Israel again.”

I love this story, this is a time where Elijah prayed for both the opening of eyes (that of his servant and then the eyes of the Arameans soldiers) and the blinding of eyes, (the Aramean soldiers) So we can pray for both as well. But we want the blinders taken off so that people can turn their hearts to the Lord and not be enslaved to the god’s of this world.

  7. May the increasing numbers responding with revelation and understanding of sowing to the Spirit and reaping eternal LIFE …be a great light in the darkness and reveal and lift off the delusions people have been under so that the futility of sowing to the flesh is seen and recognized as a dead end and many come to the Light of Yeshua.

  8. next passage “5 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: 16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live. 17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. 18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them. 20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. 21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.”

    • Amplified 18 So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this thing, and allowed the boy babies to live?” 19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth quickly and their babies are born before the midwife can get to them.”
Pretty quick on their feet, these midwives.

    • I have been thinking how often both babies and speficifically male babies have been targetted by the enemy. I heard someone teaching about how whenever God is about to do something astonishing, a great deliverance, the babies are targetted. Since Jerusalme became a nation this past century, there has never been a greater number of babies killed via abortion. Though beyond emotionally devastating to think about, it also potentially is a sign that the greatest deliverance that has ever occurred is about to happen.

  9. “And it came to pass ,because the midwives feared God…that He made them houses”. This seems to imply that God protected protection for them as they risked their lives defying Pharoah , but I wonder what that meant practically?
    KC

  10. Created protection I meant. I’m wondering what the Hebrew root is for ‘houses’ as I was just reading that the ‘mansions’ spoken of in Revelations is it actually means ‘dwelling places ‘…KC

  11. Exodus 2 “Exodus 2 King James Version (KJV)2 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. 2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. 3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.”

  12. They too were given a way or excuse to answer Pharoah why they didn’t comply that he must have accepted .! ..but its a wonder that he didn’t just say to them..’If the baby is born before you get there kill it anyway” KC

  13. next passage Exodus 2 KJC”5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. 6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children. 7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? 8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother. 9 And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. 11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. “

    • I wonder at this “little ark” that God made for Moses to deliver Him through the waters. It was actually a verse I meditate on whenever I am present. NIV Isaiah 43:2 “2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

    • Also interesting that Pharoah though he plotted against this nation, ended up actually financially supporting and raising their deliver in his own house. It’s like no matter how hard man plots and schemes or how in control one feels, that God’s plans cannot be circumvented.

      • Isn’t that so marvellously crazy and wonderful. The deliverer grew up right in the family he would eventually have to face with a word of warning and impending judgement from God. In this situation he certainly wasn’t influenced by sympathetic soulish ties to this family even if he may have had great affection towards them!KC

    • Moses must have grown up with the knowledge that he wasn’t Egyptian but in fact a Hebrew. Did she hide this ‘fact from her Father the Pharoah ..because of the compassion she felt. Kind of puts me in mind of a story like Shlinders List ,where someone who had influence with the evil King or authority used that influence or place of privilege to defy the’Kings ‘ orders.

  14. I am astounded by how this portion of the story roles out. Not only does this precious mama of faith get to raise and nurse her child, but she is actually paid to do it and her child is marked for protection. Truly truly God can keep one safe (in His secret place, in the shelter of the most HIGH) regardless of who has designs against them. This is of great comfort and immensely powerful

      • Psalm 18:15-17 King James Version (KJV)
15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

    • Yes ! Our loving God spared her the heartbreak of separation from her babe while her breasts were full of provision for him…..amazing too that the little sister was able to be in the right place at the same time . How wonderful it would have been to be ‘there’ hearing the conversations that took place as they tried to save this babies life. KC

  15. Love you all. Have a wonderful day. Tomorrow sundown we look forward to the Passover. It is truly significant this year, we are all in our houses like the Israelites and we not only have the blood on our door posts( covering our houses) but we are covered by His blood as well. See you tomorrow

    Wendy

  16. There are great online opportunities to join forces and pray with the greater body of Christ today. May our hearts be prepared to celebrate the Passover with wonder and Joy. Blessings on your day everyone! Thanks Lisa
