Healing By The Word of God – START HERE. Links in order for Easy Access.

Hello!  And Welcome to Healing By the Word, an extensive exploration of all the verses I have found so far that bring understanding, knowledge and truth for those who long to see more of God’s Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven, especially regarding health and healing.  If you are following online, scroll down to the lilac coloured arrows to see where we are this week and what posts I have added for extra study for those who want it.

I made up this page to help give direction to those following online so that everything that we have done or are doing are easy to access and follow with the click of a button.   You will notice that there are 2 main links under each topic.  The first is one that you can readily copy and paste into your word processing app and print  for yourself.  The second, includes colour coding and commentary.  I encourage you to print off your own purely scripture copy though and let God have at you first.  Once you have spent some time in the verses yourself, the colour coding and commentary is meant simply to share what I see and what stands out to me and at times others sharing in the in person course at the church.   Do take all of these “insights” and “thoughts” to the Word being Berean at all times.  Scripture is the authority… the commentary hopefully a springboard to seeing things you might not have otherwise and to springboard you into a deeper and more comprehensive study of the verses themselves.    Do read the introduction and guidelines…   In the I share all the wisdom I have learned over the last dozen years of study and each thing, though seemingly simple, has radically changed my ability and desire to read and understand scripture better.

You will notice I refer to several reference tools that I use on a regular basis

Biblegateway.com is my go to for looking up verses in different versions of the Bible.

Biblehub is an excellent website to get cross references and has bunches of other tools (interlinear, commentaries, concordance etc)

blueletterbible.org is my go to for the Strong’s Concordance but also has a bunch of other tools.  So I use this to see the meaning of the original language word, the other scriptures using that same word etc.  an example https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=G371&t=KJV

Websters 1828 Dictionary.   You may ask why the 1828 version?   If you google it, you will discover that Noah Webster was a christian and wrote the first dictionary to help christians better understand the King James Bible by giving definitions for what the Words mean.  An example http://webstersdictionary1828.com/Dictionary/irreverent.

Which Bible to use?   The one that you will read.  Pick something with large or extra large font if a smaller font will deter you.   Pick something that you can pick up and understand.     There is no sense in buying a KJV if you will never read it.  I started with this NLT Bible and it blessed me abundantly.   New Believers NLT .    Do guard your heart about believing every note you read in a study Bible.   Commentaries on scripture are by nature someone’s interpretation and can be coloured by cultural and man made doctrines… yes, they can be very insightful, BUT keep in mind that the comments are not infallible and  not equivalent to the scriptures themselves.

I  personally read scripture in the King James Easy Read Sword edition.   It is KJV with only the thee and thous changed to you etc.   I enjoy it because whenever the word Lord and God are used, immediately underneath that paragrath they provide the actual name of God in the Greek/Hebrew ie Elohim, Jehovah, etc.  and also under each paragraph, a modern translation is used for any of the more antiquated words used.  I also use the Amplified, NLT, occasionally a Peshita (translated from the Aramaic manuscripts), and the ESV.   I find cross referencing key verses helps me to more fully understand the verses and catch any translation limitations.
