Proverbs 14:12 King James Version (KJV)

¹² There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

The enemy came to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10).  He is the Father of Lies (John 8:44).  He loves to take the Word and twist it just enough so it sounds right to us but actually leads us to sin and death.   We see this in the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness.  (Luke 4).    He also uses repetition, faith comes from hearing (Romans 10 tells us the godly potential for this truth) our experience tells us that this is also so, as we generally believe whatever we hear often enough especially if we have heard it from birth.   This is why I believed for my whole life that human beings evolved from some rocks and water over millions of years . I never questioned it, but heard it so much it was deeply ingrained in my thinking.  These particular lies are the hardest to expose as they are so entrenched in our hearts and theology.    Let’s have a look at some of these “sacred cows” that stand in opposition to what God’s Word actually says.  I will add to this list as we work through them as a group.
