2 Samuel 7:21 (KJV)
21 “ For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. ”2 Samuel 7:25 (KJV)
25 “ And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said. “
Oh how much I have to learn and how faithful is He who is teaching me… These verses stood out to me as they give a glimpse of why David was truly a man after God’s own heart. To recognize the blessings and promises that have been poured out so lavishly on our lives are not in the tiniest way earned but for the sake of the Word and to glorify God. And zero credit taken on David’s part.. This humility also inspires. This outlook takes so much pressure off and inspires endless praise. And to accept and anticipate and respond to purely… and now do as you have said you will. Considering the loftiness of what God had just promised David, it puts accepting God’s promises for things like healing, direction, peace etc in perspective… Some thing to think about anyways:)
