“The Word above all your Name…”

Psalm 138:2

“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

Ephesians 1:19-22

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, “

John 1:1 + 14

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” + ” And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Some of y’all might be wondering why I focus so intently on the Word of God.

It is because I believe that the Bible tells us that the Word of God is Jesus, and is God and that when we are reading the Bible, it is the very same thing as having a conversation with God.     That’s right, I think that every time I read the Bible out loud, that is God talking to me.   I know this from experience as every time I read the Bible, something different leaps off the page to me.  I know that my inner most being responds and my body and situations also respond to the power of the Word.   I know that every word is a reliable witness of God’s heart, and will and expression.   I know from the above verses, Psalm 138 and Ephesians 1,that He is the authority over all things and that He Himself  has magnified the Word of God over even all of His name .
