Eternal life…what’s the point?

What is the purpose of Eternal life?  When does eternal life start?

I have started reading more resources from Andrew Wommack and am wonderfully challenged each time I read.

On a little side note, Praise God for loving hubby’s who are willing to stay home and give Mom’s time to rest and catch up on some r and r (rest and reading in my books house).

John 3:16 (KJV)

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 17:3 (KJV)

“3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

For some reason, our focus on eternity isn’t really about what it is, but rather what it isn’t.    For so many of us it simply means escaping hell and eternal torment.   But here in this verse, we see the main point.   To know God and Jesus Christ.

The book I am reading is called “A Better Way to Pray”.  Andrew Wommack’s answer is that we are eternal beings the moment we are born again and therefore,  living for eternity, knowing God better as the core reason for our existence, starts then/now.

So simple.. so easy to miss it…

I have had this little plaque on my fridge since I was baptised…  “The number one reason to pray is to KNOW GOD”.    Well seven years later, it is finally sinking in.   THANK YOU LORD!!!!   His patience is too awesome for words.
